Presentation Time: 9 AM MT
Speaker: Kristi Odem
Kristi Odom is a Nikon Ambassador and award-winning photographer and filmmaker whose work centers on wildlife, conservation, and emotional storytelling. With a background in electrical engineering from Georgia Tech, she brings a unique blend of technical expertise and deep empathy to her craft. Her imagery has been recognized by prestigious competitions, publications, and organizations, including National Geographic and Nature’s Best for its compelling narratives, and conservation impact. As an Associate Fellow of the International League of Conservation Photographers and a contributing photographer for National Geographic, Kristi uses her work to spotlight endangered species and threatened ecosystems around the world. Through her visual storytelling, Kristi has helped raise over a million dollars to support the restoration and protection of vital climate change defenders, from mangroves and grasslands to pollinators and pikas, amplifying the urgent need to protect the natural world.
Presentation Description: Curiosity inspired Nikon Ambassador Kristi Odom to start switching her camera over to video, which led to an exploration of wildlife and ultimately a deeper connection to the natural world. Join her as she talks about how slow motion video revealed mysteries in nature and opened up more professional opportunities (including multiple videos for Nikon and the opportunity to help raise over a million dollars for nonprofits fighting for the planet). She will start with the basic camera settings from the different slow motion modes, to suggested starting shutter speeds, ISO and apertures. May it be recording moments of laughter from your loved ones, to the movements of a bird's wings as it takes off, learn what you and your camera can do to create stunning visual pieces of moving art!
